2. Necessary document and tips for filing application

The application process is hectic. To make sure the kids get into top schools, you will want to apply to multiple schools so that your kid has an excellent chance to get into one of them. There are things you can do even before the date of application, like gathering necessary documents. Here is the checklist of essential documents for you.

  1. Birth Certificate:

The birth certificate is the first document you need to keep ready. Make sure there are no errors in the Birth certificate and take enough copies. It will help you to apply to multiple schools hassle-free.

  1. Residence Proof

A second important document is your residence proof. Some schools are okay with a single proof for residence proof, but some might ask for two proofs. To be on the safer side, keep three or four different residence proof in hands. The documents that are considered as valid id or residence proof are a passport, Aadhar card, Voter Id, Ration card, Domicile certificate, or electricity/water/MNTL bill. All these should be in the name of one of the parents of the child. In case you have just moved into a rented house and don't have any of these documents, you can try with the rent lease document.

  1. Sibling Quota

Many schools offer sibling quota if one or more siblings of the child are already studying in their school. In that case, you will need to keep fees receipt or any other document of that school ready to avail them.

  1. Alumni Quota

When you are trying to admit your child in the school, you or your spouse have studied before, ask if they have any alumni quota. If it is there, you might have to attach the X/XII passing certificate for that.

  1. Single Parent

In some schools, extra points are given while considering the application of a single parent. You need to attach relevant legal documents as proof of that.

  1. First-born Child

Some schools offer grant points for the first-born child, and you need an affidavit to claim it. Some schools have a specific format for it. Be sure to check their website before spending money on getting one.

  1. Children with special needs

To get admission under this quota, you will need to submit a certificate of disability from a government hospital.

  1. Caste Certificate

In case you want to avail caste quotas, keep the caste certificate handy as well.

There are so many things to consider before selecting the perfect nursery school for your kid that sometimes you might forget some of them. We have got you covered here. Start to do your research at least six months before the applications so that you the time to ask the following questions.

  1. The first thing you have to see is whether the school is reachable for you, preferably in your locality.
  2. Go through online reviews and talk to the parents of the children who study there.
  3. See if the school is affordable.
  4. Take yourself to the school and explore the area to see if you like the ambiance. You can take your child later to see if he/she likes it too.
  5. Get to know about the teaching philosophy of the school. Only pick a school whose teaching philosophy and beliefs align with your family.
  6. Check if there are enough security measures like pick-up and drop off procedures.

  8. See what their approach to their disciple is. It helps if it is similar to the one you follow in your home.
  9. Ask about the qualifications of the teacher.
  10. Get to know about the daily routine in school and see if they balance academics and co-curricular activities. It is vital for the overall development of the child.
  11. Ask the school what level of involvement they expect from parents.
